Getting to Oswestry
In general: aim for Shrewsbury. From Shrewsbury, either take the bus service to Oswestry directly, or change trains for Gobowen, and take the bus from Gobowen to Oswestry
The example routes below stop at Shrewsbury, since the last leg is always the same, but you can always purchase a ticket including the final trip to Gobowen

Things to Know
Train Tickets
Advance bookings are only available 12 weeks in advance.
ADVANCE tickets are the cheapest. They are a direct, single journey ticket, only valid for the exact time and service displayed.
ANYTIME tickets are more flexible. You can travel any time on the day (after the start time displayed on the ticket) and can also stopover on the way to your destination. For example, you could buy an anytime ticket from Manchester to Gobowen, but stop over at Shrewsbury for as long as you like before continuing.
OFF PEAK tickets are a mixture of the two. They have some flexibility, but may have requirements such as "time of day" or "only via Birmingham", for example.
Bus Services
Bus services are provided by Arriva. You can buy bus tickets directly when boarding the bus — ask the driver. Contactless payment is accepted on all Arriva Bus services.
You can also buy multi-day / bundle tickets online — for example an unlimited day ticket for £6.80
